How do you assess the caregivers?

You can be confident that we have the best people in the area; primarily because we have a strict hiring proves to ensure that we will hire only competent people. We, at Miller Home Care, will carefully evaluate the needs of our clients, and from here we will have him/her matched with the right person from our pool of caregivers.

Is training provided for your caregivers?

Yes, they are provided the necessary training. For newly hired caregivers, they will be given 6-hour orientation training, which will be an opportunity to be familiar with the fundamentals of their jobs, including how to handle their clients properly. All throughout their stay with the company, they will also be provided continuous training to be educated about the latest trends in senior care.

How are the caregivers paid?

You do not need to pay them directly. One member of the family will be receiving an invoice after every two weeks. Payments should be directly settled in our office.

What is a typical day with a caregiver like?

This will actually depend on the service that will be availed. Our caregivers can help in shopping, doing different errands, visiting the doctor, preparing food, playing games, walking in the park, or attending special events, among others. Our caregivers are also trained to provide services that are tailor-fitted for people with special health conditions, such as in the case of those with Alzheimer’s.

Will you send us the same caregiver every time?

We, at Miller Home Care, will try our best to make sure that the same caregiver will be sent. However, this is not one thing that we would be able to guarantee. From time to time, we might send a new one who can act as a substitute. Regardless of who we will be sending, however, we can guarantee that the client will feel comfortable. All of our caregivers are highly-trained, which is why they can deliver the highest level of satisfaction all the time.

What should I do if I am not happy with my caregiver?

This is a sad thing for us to hear. However, if you are unhappy or unsatisfied in any way, we will be more than glad to send a new caregiver. We request that you let us know the reasons, which will help us to improve our services.

What if the caregiver is unavailable for the day?

It is inevitable that our caregivers will get sick or will be unable to report for work at a given time. We will let you know if this is the case. We will be sending a substitute caregiver. If this person is meeting the client for the first time, one of the members of our team will also be there to make formal introductions.

Are there any specialty services that you provide?

We specialize in senior care, but we provide a wide array of services, such as Relocation Assistance, Care Management, Sitter Services, and Wellness Watch, among others. Get in touch with us today, and we’ll let you know more about the services that we can provide.

Can you help with medication?

We cannot directly administer the medications. However, just let us know the schedule and we will notify our clients when it is time to take their medicine.

What is light housekeeping?

This is one of the services that we offer. This means that our caregivers will provide assistance in doing daily chores at home such as cleaning, washing the dishes, and doing the laundry, among others.

What will happen if my loved one is hospitalized?

Being hospitalized can be a stressful situation, not only for the elderly but also for the family. With this, we are here to extend a helping hand. Contact us and let us know about the estimated length of stay in the hospital. Through our Sitter Services, you can go home and relax while our caregiver will take good care of the senior. We, at Miller Home Care, can also assist in providing care at home after being in the hospital, making sure that all orders from the doctor will be religiously followed.

When can a caregiver start?

As soon as you need it. Once you have made a request, we will make sure that someone will be immediately sent to provide the care services that will be needed.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Yes, you have to. This is a legally-binding agreement that is meant to protect both parties. The good news, however, is that you are free to cancel your membership at any given time. Just make sure to send a notice two weeks in advance.

Can I make schedule changes?

Yes, you can do this! Give us a call and let us know about the change that you want. However, if you notify us in less than 24 hours, we might charge a minimal fee.
